Is there still support for the Spartan 3A Evaluation Kit?

I have tried to find support files and documentation at www.em.avnet.com/drc, but I cannot find anything for the Spartan 3A eval kit.  Has support been discontinued?  Any recommendations?

Re: Is there still support for the Spartan 3A Evaluation Kit?

Our website system was recently switched over.  Some of the downloads for the older boards have not yet come back on line.  Our IT people are working on this.  Is there something specific for which you are looking?

Re: Is there still support for the Spartan 3A Evaluation Kit?

Bryan,

Thanks for answering.  I found the files that I downloaded in 2008.  I am using these to perform the tutorials.  I can already see some disconnects caused by using the old files with Xilinx ISE 13.3, for example.  In some cases, I have found work arounds.  I will wait until the SP3A_eval directory is back up to update my files.

Re: Is there still support for the Spartan 3A Evaluation Kit?

Even after the site is back up (which it is not, as of a few minutes ago), you will find that our files are not updated to 13.3.  Spartan-3A is now 2 generations old architecture, and we haven't sold this board for over 18 months.  We are not actively updating these files.  If you really want to run 13.3 and are having trouble updating the designs, then you could check with your local Avnet FAE for assistance, or post the specific errors here.  Your other choice is to use the legacy Xilinx software for which these tutorials were originally developed.

Re: Is there still support for the Spartan 3A Evaluation Kit?

Bryan,

Thanks again for your help.  I am unable to do the MicroBlaze exercises, but those don't matter to me.

I am using the evaluation board for self-study.  My employer (a defense contractor) has 10-year production runs on a typical design.  2-generation old architectures are quite common.

Thanks again,

Frank
